What is the logbook?
The logbook is a record of a candidate's successful tests. You will not receive a logbook until you are ready to take your first test. You must contact ECDL Team at least 2 days before your first test so we can complete your registration and assign you a logbook. Once you have received your logbook, you are responsible for bringing it to each Assessment session you attend. You will not be permitted to take a certification exam without your logbook. Candidates with special needs may qualify for extra time to take exams. If you think this may apply to you, contact us on (023) 9258 1667 . It will take 20 working days to complete a Special Needs application, so please contact us as soon as possible.

What happens in an Assessment session?
Assessment sessions begin with a diagnostic test. At the end of the diagnostic test, you will receive feedback on areas where you might need more study and questions you have answered incorrectly. After the diagnostic test, there will be a short break during which time you can decide whether to sit the certification exam.

How difficult are the tests?
Like all tests, the ECDL is not difficult if you are prepared. The diagnostic test and invigilator will help you determine whether you are ready to sit the exam.

What if I don''t want to take the exam?
If you decide you don''t want to take the certification exam, you leave the Assessment session at the break time. There is no pressure to take the exam; only take it when you feel you are ready. You can come back at a later time to take the exam.

What happens if I decide to take the exam?
After the break, all notes must be put away in bags or folders. Mobile phones must be turned off or put on silent. You will be logged into the testing system by the invigilator. When all students are logged in, you may start the test. You will not be permitted to leave the room, or talk with other students or the invigilator during the test. You have 45 minutes to complete the test. You will receive your results immediately upon finishing the exam. Once the invigilator has seen the results of the exam, successful candidates will have their logbooks stamped. Also read our Examination Instruction

What happens if I fail?
If you fail an exam, you may retake it but not on the same day. If you need further advice on studying, speak with the invigilator after other students have completed the exam.
