What is ECDL

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is the internationally recognised qualification which enables people to demonstrate their competence in computer skills.

The record breaking ECDL is the fastest growing IT user qualification in over 125 countries.

ECDL is designed specifically for those who wish to gain a benchmark qualification in computing to enable them to develop their IT skills and enhance their career prospects.
No prior knowledge of IT or computer skills is needed to study ECDL.

Course Provisions

Weekly workshops with a course leader who can provide one to one support for candidates starting an ECDL qualification.

Access to computers with internet access and all the necessary software to complete your studies are also provided (access is provided during the weekly workshops).

Access to Bay House ECDL website. The website is the portal to our online training software.
Plus access to the Bay House Learning platform containing additional resources.

An option to purchase the ECDL text book is also available (at an additional cost of TBA).

Examination Information

There is one diagnostic assessment available per module which will enable candidates and course leaders to determine readiness for the actual examinations. The diagnostic assessment provides a detailed report outlining areas of revision.

One examination per module which counts towards the qualification; should the need arise for a re-sit then these can be booked (there is an additional charge for re-sits).

Upon completion of the seven exams the ECDL qualification is awarded.

An additional certificate is also awarded for completion of modules one, two and seven (further information regarding this certificate can be found in the ECDL course description).
