What is ECDL

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is the internationally recognized qualification which enables people to demonstrate their competence in computer skills.

The record breaking ECDL is the fastest growing IT user qualification in over 125 countries.

ECDL is designed specifically for those who wish to gain a benchmark qualification in computing to enable them to develop their IT skills and enhance their career prospects.
No prior knowledge of IT or computer skills is needed to study ECDL.

Course Provisions

This is a self paced learning course intended for candidates who wish to study at home.

Access to Bay House ECDL website and the Bay House Learning platform are provided. This provides access to our online training software.

A course Participation file will also be provided which contains useful information and resources.

An option to purchase the ECDL text book is also available (at an additional cost of TBA).

Candidates will require access to a computer and the Internet at home in order to successfully complete this course. MS Office 2003 is also recommended.

Examination information

The course provides for one diagnostic assessment per module. This will enable you and your course leader to determine your readiness for the ECDL exams.

There are seven examinations in total (one per module); these are included in the cost of the course. Candidates are permitted to re-sit an exam should the need arise (Re-sits are chargeable).

Upon completion of the seven exams the ECDL qualification is awarded.

An additional certificate is also awarded for completion of modules one, two and seven (further information regarding this certificate can be found in the ECDL course description).
